The Godley Hotel, Lake Tekapo

This hotel is top-notch! The rooms offer a fantastic view and are equipped with outdoor furniture, making them ideal for both wheelchair users and families. However, the dining area could use some improvement, but the service overall is excellent. The location is superb, right by the lake and town center, making everything easily accessible.

My stay at the hotel was truly a mixed experience. The location was amazing, right by the lake with easy access to everything around Tekapo town center. Although the room had a fantastic view, the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired, and there were some minor damages in the furniture. The service was pretty good, especially with accommodating our request for a late check-out and the restaurant manager’s attentiveness. However, the dining experience lacked options, and the hotel lacked some essential facilities.

The service, especially from the restaurant manager, was exceptional, fulfilling our request for a late check-out. The location is top-notch, right on the lake side near the walkway to the historic church. For dining, the succulent steaks were a highlight, even though the view of building materials was a slight drawback. The facilities were satisfactory, meeting our basic needs during the stay.
